David Henderson introduces the term "government fundamentalists":

It’s not that I think markets will always work perfectly. It’s just that they work so much better than the coercive solutions that are proposed by those who call me a “market fundamentalist.” ... What should we call people who seem to regard government as the solution regardless of the evidence? I propose the term “government fundamentalists.”

He then quotes Economist Jeff Hummel of the essence of government fundamentalism,

If markets don't work, have government intervene. If government intervention doesn't work, have government intervene further.

正好最近在酝酿一篇类似的文章,当然是以中国为背景。中国的问题更为严重。美国中学的经济学教育保证了至少在经济平稳运行时不会有太多呼吁政府管制的愚蠢言论。但中国任何时候任何问题上都有反市场的声音。多么神奇的国度。这篇文章,不知道期末考试之前还有没有时间写。
